Lucas Bahr makes his Repopulate Mars debut with a collaboration with Black Keusen.
Lucas Bahr is a Brazilian artist whose influences stem from classic hip-hop and jazz. His grooves are often heavily percussive and have come on the likes of Sola and Nervous, amongst many more, often finding their way into high-profile bags belonging to DJs like The Martinez Brothers and Marco Carola.
The title track ‘Telephono’ comes alongside Black Keusen, who has turned out releases on CUFF, Elevation Music Records and G-Spot, and brings a flurry of Latin flair from the off. It's a thumping tech house workout with Spanish vocals and rolling bass that draws you in deep as the vocals get wilder and a dial tone comes in to really set things off. Bahr then goes it alone for the dark and driving 'P*ssy'. It has naughty vocal hooks and whirring synths while
the bassline keeps punching down low. Last of all is 'Playa' with its raw percussive drums and another Spanish vocal that brims with soul and summery heat. Smart filters and dramatic fills keep pumping the vibe, and it's easy to see this one becoming a real underground anthem.
